My husbands birth certificate says BABY BOY. He never knew his birth mother and his father raised him. How ever his fathjer is not on the birth certificate. He has a state drivers licinese and a social security card. How can we get his name added to his birth certificate now 36 years later?

What state do you live in? Have you contacted your state's Vital Statistics department? There are procedures to follow so that the birth certificate can be amended but each state varies as to the paperwork, etc.

I would start with Vital Statistics or the Department of Health.

The state is Texas. We were told to file an amendment. Our issue is with out knowing the birth mom. Who can acknowledge he is the actual person on the birth certificate. Would his DL and social security card be enough? Or can I as his wife acknowledge the document?

Where is his Father? Where are his Father's relatives?
