My exspouse passed away last year still oweing a large amount of back child support. He has not paid in years and my daughter is now of majority age. We were recently told that I could collect back child support from his social security. Do you know anything about this and if true how do I go about doing this, need contact info etc.

Did he leave any estate behind? How far behind was he in child support?

You can try contacting your local Social Security office and ask them about this.

No. You can't collect from his SSI because he is deceased. I think they were getting confused. If he was still alive then you might. But this is very different.
