Installing a constant powered thrmostat controlled attic fan to a switched line.
Hi, I have a light fixture in my attic attached to a line with a switch beneath my attic stairs. I was wondering if I could splice into that line to feed an attic fan. However, I need the attic fan to have constant power (thermostat controlled). The wire has a black, white and green wires within. Before attempting I figured I should ask and see if this is possible. I ama ssuming I could just attach the black and the white and then it would have the constant power. Could someone confirm that for me or let me know what I can do? I don't want to run another line or anything, I am not an electrician, just a DIY homeowner.
    Thanks in advance,

    Jeff
