I was not "personally" served the 60 day notice. It was not given to me hand in hand by anyone. It was left underneath my door! Am I to honor the 60 day notice since it was not lawfully served to me by any law enforcement officer.

It is very likely that putting it under your door was proper and legal notice. A 60 day notice does not have to be served by a law enforcement officer in order to be valid.

I suggest that you honor the notice.

A 60 day notice to vacate is not a legal summons. It does not have to be served by a process server. Or even be served in person. Not sure where you are getting such ideas.

This is merely a management notice to move out, If you do not, then you will be served a summons to appear in court to be evicted.

And in my state , they do not have to hand you either.

The 60 day notice could be taped to your front door, but under the door is better since everyone can not read it that walks by.

But yes this is completely legal.

Here even the summons by the sherrif office is normally just posted to the door if you are not home, so it is normally not handed either.

Why do you think it has to be handed to you by a law enforcement officer in order to be lawfully served - ?

I own/operate a process service company.

A notice to vacate does not have to be "served" but can be put under your door or taped to the front of your door. If anything the management office tried to spare you the embarrassment of taping it to your door and alerting your neighbors to your deliquency.
