New Clutch? 2001 Honda Civic EX. Please read. Tx?
Hey TX!! Long time! I been busy and haven't come on this site... H EHE>.

Im back again with another question for you.

    ( 2001 Honda Civic EX )

Recently, I felt my clutch pedal getting higher and it feels like its starting to slip, so I decided I needed a new clutch.

I went to a new mechanic a friend suggested. He charged me 475$ for the job. Anyway, I go to pay for the clutch, then he tells me he also changed a motor mount which costs 40$ ( without labor ). I tell him that's not honest and he should have asked me before changing it. Anyway, I end up paying 500$ even for the clutch and new motor mount. I felt he was kind of shady and is why I'm here asking for an opinion.

My new clutch feels weird. The pedal seems SOOOO SOFT. Like butter. Is that a good thing? Or bad thing? How do I know if he really put in a new clutch? It drives OK and it has a 1 year warranty. But the pedal just seems weird.

    Let me know! THanks TX~

He may have used the Super Hi Temp Urea Grease on release fork, release fork bolt, and release bearing. Ask him. You may notice it gets stiffer, over time. At this point, it may be difficult for you to determine that he put a new clutch in. Does the receipt show it was a Honda part?

Yes, he shouldn't have done any work not approved in advance.

My gut is everything is fine.
