How to set up wireless printing using um175 and laptop
I would like to set up a wireless home network at home so that I can print wireless from both my laptop and my desktop. My laptop is wireless enabled but my desktop is not and I both use the Pantech UM175 from Verizon to connect to the internet. How do I set up a network and what do I need to get for my desktop to wireless enable it?

    KISS

You missed describing your printer. Wireless enabled? Which one?

There are a number of wireless standards 802.11/b/g/n. Hotspots use g or g and generally the interfaces support multiple standards.

Although, you don't strictly have to wireless enable your desktop unless you want to move it around. There are Card based interfaces and USB type interfaces for the Desktop.

Having a fixed IP address (you assign it) for printers in the way to go.

Point to a link for the router instruction manual. I'm assuming DSL although I could be off base. You'll have to purchase a wireless router and put your current router in "Bridge" mode.

Lots of stuff to worry about.

    Describe printer.

    Is network b/g/n
N has higher speeds and better range, but your laptop may or may not have it.

    Link to router instruction manual?
