Is collection barred by public policy?
Plaintiff files complaint for sexual harassment etc. Motion for Summary Judgment granted defendant. Judgment for Defendant against Plaintiff.

Can defendant collect the judgment under federal law against plaintiff? Or would that violate public policy?

    Hello n:

Sure. What public policy would be violated if he does?

Clearly, executing on a judgment entered against a sexual harassment complainant violates public policy; and, therefore, it is unenforceable.

IOW, not worth the paper it's written on :)

This website is dangerous. I pity anyone foolish enough to take anonymous advice. The poor dumb SOB will pay dearly for it, in the end.

    Hello again, n:

As dangerous as it is, you're going to hang around for a while, huh? So, who is in need of pity?

There is always a nuance. Practicing law is difficult and much of the law makes no sense. I have practiced over 40 years. I don't intend to hang out "here".

Just looking to brainstorm with other attorneys in a federal matter that has lapsed. This isn't the site.

    Hello again, n:

Nope, it isn't. You'd think an attorney with over 40 years of experience would have noticed right off that this ISN'T the place to brainstorm. Plus, a professional person, who doesn't know the rules of polite society, didn't get along with that society for over 40 years. Nope, you're just another low life, lying bastard.

But, you can brainstorm with me. I'm better than any lawyer you'll find.

If that guy's an attorney I'm Queen Victoria. Apparently he's in the same office as the guy who claimed to be a federal judge. Remember that nitwad? He was funnier than this nitwad any day.

Oh, I guess neilyoung isn't really gone. An Attorney who needs to brainstorm on a public site? Apparently the other Attorneys in the other legal associations have grown weary...

Oh, the Easter Bunny called. I AM the new first assistant -

Waiting for Neil, who is gone forever, to return.

For the record, I am a real attorney, and I don't believe you.
