    Credit card judgement
Almost 10 years ago my son-in-law started a business and he had to order equipment.. so I let him use 3 of my credit cards... I had no balance on these cards... needless to say 3 months later I was in 30000.00 debt I shut the cards down immediately... I have had a lien put on my house and I also had a judgment against my bank... I am disabled and only get social security... the attorney pulled the judgment after it was proved where the income came from... now there is another collection company who bought another one of my credit card debt and they said they were going to do a judgment... will this ever end... how long can they keep a lien on my house... I am a person that never had any credit card debt and it makes me sick to owe all this money... thank you for your opinion...

If it was 10 years ago on the card and the last time any payment was made, it should be outside of the statute of limitations. I would check into the account very closely. They might just be threatening to get a judgment in order to get you to pay them something, therefor opening the SOL again. Frankly, if they are going to take it to court, there is little you can do to stop them. If they are harassing you, Google tips on how to stop collection calls. There are limits to what they can legally say and do.

A lien will survive on your house until it is sold, either by you or by your survivors.
