I'm aged 43 & I have thyroid problem & my libido level is bad ?
I'm aged 43 male living in south India , having thyroid problem for about 2 years , I'm prescribed Thryronorm 50mg tab : I take this tab every day morning in my empty stomach .
Now the problem is my sex drive has come down which means to be precise my penis is not getting harder any more .
Is this is due to thyroid factor or any other defect . Advice Dr

Usually erectile dysfunction can be blamed for hormonal imbalances, and thyroid problems are just that. Minimum or maximum because doctors cannot balance a thryoid problem perfectly one way or another, it is that imbalanced to the inth degree. You can't really blame it on your medication for this particular reason. This is my own opinion. We can't diagnose or recommend on AMHD only advise based on our current knowledge of a medical condition. You will have to resort to your own doctor, discuss this with him. The following are some suggestions from about.com a medical forum. I suggest you read carefully. You may be able, through fine tuning your meds with hormonal supplements, correct this problem you are having. Good luck.

    1. Make sure your thyroid drug treatment is optimal.
    2. Make sure your TSH level is the best for your health
    3. Check your hormones - get a full profile
    4. Have a thorough physical to rule out other non-thyroid health
    Conditions
    5. Get testosterone supplementation, if necessary
    6. For women, supplement estrogen/progesterone if needed
    7. With your doctor's approval, consider supplements
    8. Lose weight
    9. Exercise
    10. Consider therapy.
