While working, I pulled the upper chain on my ceiling fan and the light and fan stopped working. I pulled the chain again and nothing happened. The LED light on the ceiling fan remote lights up when buttons are pushed. Nothing happens when I push the buttons.

Check the dip switches. If they match, the receiver may have failed. You can open the fan at the ceiling, remove the receiver, and wire the fan without it.
