If I owned my home prior to marriage, what happens with a divorce?

It depends on what state you are in. If you were in say Ohio, if you owned the home prior to the marriage your husband would have no claim to the home as it was purchased prior to the marriage.

Was the home owned outright?

Or, were you buying it making payments during the marriage?
