Is there a way to tap under the bathroom sink at the most distant hot water second floor (top) location. How do you do this? Does it waste a lot of hot water? Running the shower for 5 minutes also wastes a lot of water.

I installed a Laing circulating pump about two years ago and I've been very happy with it. To install you need to have power available underneath that sink. You hook up the hot and cold pipes to it and then connect it to the faucet. After that, set the timer and remember to check it after power failures. I insulated my hot water pipes under my pier and beam house, but I'm like that.

I don't know if it saves me a lot of energy, but it does save water and makes things much more civilized: no waiting for hot water.

The only downfall is the cold water is sometimes warm, but that's it. The thing is close to silent.
