Bad Conduct Discharge and Civilian Jobs
Can I become a Correctiions Officer in the state of Arizona if I received a bad conduct discharge from the USAF? I served less than a year sentence. Ive done numerouse background checks on myself and all have come up empty. Just curiouse to know before I talk to the Academy.

    Hello N:

If the state of Arizona checks you out like it does the brown people on the street, they'll find out about your conviction. If the equivalent civilian crime would have been a misdemeanor, you may have a shot at being a hack (that's what we call 'em). But, if it was a felony, I doubt it.

Of course, they may not find it at all.

They will ask about your military history and you will have to provide them a copy of your discharge papers. So there is no way they will not know. In fact they will ask you if you ever did any crimes that you did not get arrested or caught.

The issue is that they don't want anything not known, since it would be something an inmate could black mail you on.

If he was not a felony you can, so the reason for the bad conduct will be the issue
