    Hi,

    I am a F1 visa holder currently working on opt.Can you please let me know what is the federal & state tax for Maryland??

    Actually even I had the same question... my totally earnings on w2 for the year 2010 is 4800.. I am on OPT (f1 student) and my employer has only withheld my federal tax.. he told me I have no state tax.. I work in Maryland.. am I entitled for state tax

    If you are from India, you are getting a complete refund of your federal income taxes because the combination of your personal exemption ($3,650) and your standard deduction ($5,700) (which Indian students can claim under Article 21 of the U.S.-India Tax treaty) complete offsets the $4,800 IN INCOME.

    For Maryland, you have a requirement to file, but you will owe NO income tax.
