I moved to san diego area and wonder if someone could tell me the competetive price per sq ft to repaint a cedar fence. The fence is REALLY red and they want a "Sand" color on it so I'm hoping a coat of primer and a coat of high quality paint will do it.

Or should I be planning for 2 coats of paint in my estimate?
The fence is approx. 200 ft long / 6 ft tall and I will be replacing 40 of the old slats.

Hope you are spraying with an airless sprayer. Pressure wash the fence, spray with KILZ 1-2-3 and one top coat should do it. The number of top coats depends on the color change from primer to finish color and the quality of the paint so I can't be more specific
