2001 ford windstar transmision trouble

2001 Ford Windstar Transmission troubles. My Windstar lost fluid around the gasket. I changed the filter and gasket but after a short drive the gasket blew out in the same place. What would affect this? Why does this happen?

I've never heard of a transmission pan gasket "blowing" out. Do you mean leaking? Ford's transmission pan gaskets are the best in the world. They are reuseable and last forever, with their metal core. Did you use a Ford gasket or a cheap gasket that came with the filter? If you overtighten one of those, they will squish and leak. Ford gaskets are flawless.
