The beginning of the movie portrays a young teenage boy who lives what seems to be a privileged life but has strict and uninvolved parents. He is walking down the street holding his father's hand (I think) when some "wild, untamed" youth run past them. The boy is very intrigued by this group of young criminals (not sure how I know this so perhaps they may have been getting chased by police or arrested?) and eventually just runs off to live with these other youth in the street. I think the movie is a bit old, perhaps from the 80s or 90s. I have never ever been able to locate this film since the time I saw it and it's been bothering me for years! Thanks for any input! Do you remember by any chance, any of the actors who where in the movie?

Ugh, I wish I did... I don't recall them being anyone I knew. One thing I forgot to mention is that they appeared to be living in a place that reminded me of The Bronx or somewhere like that. They were dressed quite formally as well. Thanks for trying to help! :)
