I have a 2006 f350 4x4 crew cab with the 6.o diesel. I had to replace my driver side front brake line (rubber piece) because of tire rub, and have bleed my brakes all around twice. My pedal is till soft. What else can I do? I have read on some other forums about a ABS system on the frame rail on the drivers side, but I didn't notice any.Also read something about a tool you plug into your computer port under the dash to open up your ABS stuff. Anybody know anything about these?

Use metric flare nut wrenches to ensure the new brake line is tightened properly. Open-end wrenches can distort fasteners and prevent them from sealing.

I've never had a problem bleeding F350 brakes and there's nothing unique about it. Because of all the room, in fact, it's easier to do than on most vehicles. The only hassle is removing the protective shield to the LR caliper. Bleed them in this order: RR, LF, LR, and RF. I use Valvoline brake fluid, which meets Ford's HBH requirement for trucks. I use the fool-proof Brake Bleeder Economy One-Man, Cal-Van Tools, No. 247, brake bleeder. Item 2 is a poor man's alternative:

After you finish, pump the brakes a number of times, start the engine, and pump them some more due to the booster. ABS should not cause the pedal to be soft. You should not have to worry about running the internal ABS pump motor. After you are sure your brakes are fine, take the truck out on a safe stretch of road and engage the ABS. This will replace the old fluid in the internal reservoir and help prevent corrosion.
