I am currently 9 days late & my periods regular as far as I can tell (im not the best counter) I took 2 home tests & both were negative. I also went to the doc today & there pee test also said negative. Why they didn't blood test I don't know. I have had cramps all week & my boobs also hurt. I know that these could be regular pms symptoms though. I have been sleeping a lot & very cranky lol but I am taking chantix to quit smoking cigs. I keep thinking each day I'm going to get my period & I haven't yet. The doc said come back in 2 weeks for a blood test if I don't get my period first. Going to be a long 2 weeks :(

Could just be an off cycle, could be pregnant and the tests just aren't picking it up yet... which sometimes happens. Many doctors won't go right to a blood test since it is not uncommon for a woman to have a late period, or even skip one, every now and then. Blood tests are done more often once two periods have been missed.

You can do another home test yourself after several more days if you wanted to... sensitivity levels are often the same as what your doctor would use anyway.
