What causes a refrigerator to get hot on the outside
My fridge is hot on the outside frame, but, still is cold inside,I ordered a evaporator fan motor kit,is that the same as a condenser fan motor? Also, is it easy to install myself?Thanks.. Emily..

The evaporator fan is inside of the freezer section. The condenser fan is in the back near the bottom of the refrigerator. The heat on the outside of the refrigerator is being caused because the heat is not being released from the condenser coil. The same line runs through the sides and center strip of the refrigerator and the heat has to go somewhere. If the condenser coils are dirty or if the fan is not blowing air across the condenser coils this will cause your condition. You can put a small fan or box fan to blow air across the condenser coils and the compressor to help them release the heat until you get it fixed properly.
