    Getting deposit back
Hi, I recently moved out of a house. Did a move out inspection and everything was great. I was told that I would be getting my deposit within three days. After three days of not hearing from the them. I went to the office ;and I was told that my deposit was giving to the owner of the house and that I needed to contact the owner for deposit. WHen I signed my lease I signed with the leasing /mortgage company.I did not know or met the owner.I have no aggreeement with the landlord whatsoever. There is nothing in my lease that said my deposit will be giving to the owner. I gave my deposit to them, moved out when my lease expired. Shouldn't the leasing company be responsible to gave me back my deposit since my lease agreement is with them and my deposit was made out to them?

First, its not a good idea to piggyback your post on someone else's. So I've moved it to it's own thread.

This is a weird one. It probably depends on the agreement between the leasing company and the landlord. The landlord may, in fact, have it stated that all deposits go to them.

In any case, the landlord generally has 20-30 days to return a deposit, the 3 days is unusual. So I would ask the leasing company for a contact point with the landlord and write them asking when you can expect the deposit back. See what their response is before going further.
