Brown hair fading to red please help!!
My hair is a natural dark brown color, I color and highlight my hair, so now I have to keep doing it. The problem is the brown color that I dye it ALWAYS turns to a copper or reddish color no matter what, while the highlights stay light. I'm just wondering what shade of brown would be best to keep it from fading to red and have my dyed color look the same or close to my natural color when it grows out? I've tried to just go back to my natural color of dark brown, but then it winds up turning black which I also really don't want, and then the hightlights fade back out. iv've also dyed it in a ash color and it still fades to a red.

That's actually very normal. My suggestion is to dye your hair than you a shampoo and conditionar for BROWN hair. There are all kinds of them but I would have to say Brilliant Brunette is the best.

    Good Looking Out

Keep in mind that brown or black hair has a lot red pigment, and if you apply a permanent color on your hair, it will result in a red/orange tone. An ash color with a green base can counteract the red tones, however, it's best to select a shade close to your natural hair color, such dark ash brown. If the ash color doesn't help, select a regular dark brown color. To prevent the color from fading, use shampoos and conditioners designed for color treated hair, it will preserve hair color. You can also use color enhancers to boost your color, you will find these products at a drug store or beauty supply store.

I actually think that is very special, most people try hard to get perfect red hair... you may grow to love it but if it is a very unnatural color, and you truly hate the color, I strongly recommend a shampoo and conditioner product specifically for brunettes. It enhances the brown color and will bring it back into your hair They are made of natural ingredients that ought to work! Pantene is a great brand to get, so if you would like, you can go to their website and order, if you can't find them at any local stores! I hope this helps! :)
