My hair is a natural dark brown color, I color and highlight my hair, so now I have to keep doing it. The problem is the brown color that I dye it ALWAYS turns to a copper or reddish color no matter what, while the highlights stay light. I'm just wondering what shade of brown would be best to keep it from fading to red and have my dyed color look the same or close to my natural color when it grows out? I've tried to just go back to my natural color of dark brown, but then it winds up turning black which I also really don't want, and then the hightlights fade back out. iv've also dyed it in a ash color and it still fades to a red.

That's actually very normal. My suggestion is to dye your hair than you a shampoo and conditionar for BROWN hair. There are all kinds of them but I would have to say Brilliant Brunette is the best.

I actually think that is very special, most people try hard to get perfect red hair... you may grow to love it but if it is a very unnatural color, and you truly hate the color, I strongly recommend a shampoo and conditioner product specifically for brunettes.
