    Kenmore 2 stage furnace fan on 24/7. Is this normal?
    I moved into a rental and the kenmore furnace fan is running constantly. It is fine on hot days (although I don't think it helps cool the house) However, on cool days we do not wish to have the heat on, nor do we want the cold air blowing. If I take the bottom panel off the blower disengages and turns off. Is there a way to stop the blower without taking the cover off?
    Thanks

    Turn the tstat to auto, not fan or fan on,, if this doesn`t work call the landlord,should be up to him to take care of repairs

    Thanks for your quick reply wmroop;
    I have called Sears and got the royal run around.

    I have tried every setting on the tstat and as you suggested. My last resort was to contact the Landlord who is an absentee. I just was not sure if it was normal for a newer furnace to have the blower on constantly and if so was there a way to turn it off.

    First check your thermostat. Usually you have fan(ON), Off, and Auto. If you set the thermostat to auto, or off for that matter, and the fan still runs continuously then you have a wiring problem or control issue that will have to be addressed. You should have a power switch that will turn the furnace off. Follow the power wires that go into the furnace back to a main switch.

    The breaker is next best way to turn off,, there are several things to be wrong that should be checked out by a hvac tech,again the landlords responsibility,, maybe arrangements can be made for you to get repaired and cost taken off the rent
