    Bank account garnishment laws
    Hi there,
So, back in 11/08 we had a repo, my husband lost his job (we were both on the loan). We got sued recently in May of this year 2010 and went to court, we agreed to pay. So we never called to set up an amount or date and I was served a writ of garnishment at work. They are taking 25% of my check... understandable... but now my bank acccount is frozen?? I called and it's due to a writ of garnishment... can they take their 25% which is the maximum by the way AND take more out of my account that my check is direct deposited into?? My account balance was $15 lousy bucks now it's ZERO

Yes, so don't have the money direct deposit or they will take all of the next check that goes in.

Also are you sure just 15 dollars, if you had any checks that had not cleared, they took or froze all of the funds so any checks not cleared will not bounce
