I own a 4 ton medallion central house unit... Better known as miller.. All day I had my air conditioner on blowing cold air , about 10.00 at night it just stopped blowing cold air, so I turned it of for the night.. Turned back on in the morning and compressor will not kick on, but fan was running inside and outside only, was told it sounds like the compassador, unit is only 3 years old, and not under warranty no more, I would like to fix this myself, so what should I do please.. Im open to all advice.. Thanks, bruce

Start by checking the electric wires from the contactor to the capacitor and then to the compressor inside the outside unit. Make sure to check the wires connected to the compressor . Then take you capacitor checker and test the compressor run capacitor. Report back with your findings. NOTE: Compressors have a 5 year warranty so you may want to look into that.
