How to stop a tank from leaking when flushed?
I have replaced the flush valve with a whole new kit along with the seal under the tank but when I flush the toilet it gushes water out from under the tank. It only leaks when I flush it. I have tightened all the bolts finger tight as not to over tighten when I replaced the flush valve and seal. So what could the problem be and where is it leaking from. It floods the bathroom every time its not just a little water it's a lot.

    Hi Stacy...

Finger tight isn't even close to tight enough here... ;)

Start by tightening the tank bolts to a point where you have just a little bit of wiggle at the tank when you are finished. Here, you'll tighten the bolts a little on the left then a little on the right, repeat as needed until the tank fits snugly to the bowl and you can just wiggle the tank a bit when you push on it.

As long as the tank doesn't touch the toilet bowl you can't really crack the tank.

Start there and then try flushing the toilet again... let me know what happens... OK?
