My fiancé got caught driving while on a suspended license/learners permit. He is on supervised probation for a burglary crime(stupid one time decision) for 18 months and August will be one year since he's been on probation. He hasn't done anything since being on probation since last August so this is his first offense. He got 3 citations all regarding driving on a suspended license/learners permit. It initially got suspended because he got caught driving alone on his learners permit in 2007 and never paid the fine. He has his court date in September but I can't take the suspense of what might happen. I'm hoping someone out there can hopefully give me some sort of insight of what might happen when we go to court. We live in Maryland if that makes any difference.

If he did not properly report each instance of police contact to his PO and his PO finds out this is an automatic violation. If he gets convicted the PO will find out and this will be an automatic violation. If he's smart he would have already told the PO about the tickets he's gotten. But then from the sounds of his behavior I don't think he's going to bother the PO over some trifling tickets and is going to wait until one day when he reports in and the PO has a warrant in his hand and tells the baliff in his office to take him into custody to await his VOP hearing.

He has called her a few times and has left messages for his PO but no return phone call. He also got a letter in the mail stating that his date to meet with her was moved and it's right before his court date. But still no phone call from her.

He hasn't done anything since the August burglary charge, EXCEPT driven and been caught 3(now 4?) times in violation?

I would seriously think the courts would put him behind bars.. The multiple violations are right there, the courts aren't lost when a person of interest has violations,unreported(If you had called your PO and stated you got a ticket for something like this,do you really believe the PO wouldn't have you in their custody immediately? really?, on top of that, 3 or 4 violations? )

Suspense relieved.He is most likely going to serve time for the violations.He is most likely going to have a revoked license.and he is most likely going to drive(once freed) on that revoked license and get caught.More time for those violations... endless cycle.

My advice, get out while the getting's good.This whole mess is a recipe for disaster.

Agree with "Twinkie" - if she won't answer his phone calls he had better send her a letter.

Or else pack his bags.
