    Hi Finley2

I can't be sure, of course, but I'm guessing that you have purchased a MANUAL power snake. Here, the snake may fit onto the drill but it still needs to be fed into/out of the drain line BY HAND! Wear leather gloves and safety goggles for your own safety... ok?

Otherwise, let us know the specific kind of "power drain snake" you purchased... can tell you more after that!

    Back to you...

Yep. The ones for the drill generally work that way. You undo a locknut. Remove the snake until you hit something. Tighten the locknut. Turn on the drill and repeat.

    Finley2...

I saw your comment. The cobra snake is indeed a manual power feed snake. You will need to push the snake into the drain and pull it out by hand while engaging the drill itself.

Hope that gets you up and running!
