Look for the title for an old B Sci-fi
I don't why it came up but I have been trying find this 90's sci-fi I saw.
It was about a group of academy graduates on there first tour on a little corvette class ship, and anything that could go wrong for them did. The Captain and the first mate die, they are trying to stop three larger enemy ships from killing civilians.
I remember a few scenes that just stuck with me.
They group gets in trouble letting enemy grads pick a fight with them.
The enemy flag ship captain is angry that the mail carrier was a soldier and not a civilian, so he dies during integration with out tell them anything.
The group lose a bit of hope when they get to the colony they are trying to protect, and find the orbital defense platform can only hold its orbit and has no weapons to even help them.
The enemy captain scoffs at his subordinate's say that the colonist are hiding in the jungles and tells him that the marines will earn there keep by hunting them down.
