    Bump behind my right ear
    Hi,

I've noticed for the last two weeks that I have a hardened bump behind the middle of my right ear. It feels as hard as a bone. It doesn't hurt or anything, but I am getting stressed out about it. Anyone know what it could be? What are the probabilities that it could be something very serious?

It could be a Lymph Gland you got from a cold. You could see a doctor but most likely when you leave it alone it will go away. If it gets bigger or more painful, I suggest to see a doctor.

    God Bless,

I agree with Elizabeth, it is probably a swollen lymph node. Though if it does in fact feel like bone, it could be the mastoid process you are feeling, part of the temporal bone of the skull and a site of muscle attachments. It is possible for this bone to become infected, mastoiditis, though not common.
I agree, if it persists for any length of time, gets larger or becomes tender to touch, have it examined by a doctor. Though it is probably nothing much to worry about.
    Take care. :)

It Is A Normal Part Of Your Ear. I Have Them Too! Is It On Both Ears? Because There Are Not Lypmph Nodes On Your Ears.

I had the same problem, and I finally went to the doctor. She said it was lymph nodes. They have been there now for about 5 years.

    Its normal, don't worry.
