Can the man you have had an affair with sue you for breaking up their marriage?
    Hi there

I have had an affair with my friend's husband while they are married. She knew about the relationship and approved it because her husband asked her for a divorce before things got more between me and the husband. After 2 months I decided to end the relationship and now that my friend and her husband has filed for divorce he wants to sue me for breaking up their marriage. Is it possible for him to sue me and what is the worst that can happen?

The affair was between you and he, so you are both responsible. I don't know how he can sue you for this, but anyone can get a lawyer and issue a lawsuit if they have the money and time to do so. What did he say his grounds are going to be: causing alienation of affection? I hardly think he has valid grounds.

No, he cannot sue you for breaking up his marriage. Relax. No attorney in their right mind would take the case. On the other hand an attorney that has too much time and not enough money may consider taking the case though.
