My husband & I have been maintaining the property next to us for about 9 years now, which belongs to his mother, whom lives out of state. Last year he ask her if we could put up a 96' greenhouse for our business on a part of her property... she responded, yes. Well, now there are family issues between the siblings & the mother. What are our rights regarding the property?? They are threatening to remove whatever is on the mothers property... we have done nothing but be good to them & do ALL the upkeep. I would greatly appreciate any sound advice... Thanks

Without a written agreement, you don't have rights. But, neither do your siblings. If you WANT rights, have your mother write a lease for your greenhouse.

I have lived in my mother's house for over 4 years. I took care of her until she passes away Nov. 2012. I have 4 siblings and 1 thinks we should sell the propetry and the other 3 want me to have it. Can one sibling make us sell? There is a will that we share equally. What are my rights since I have been there for over four years?

Unfortunately, having lived there gives you NO additional rights over that of your siblings.

However, one sibling cannot make the other three sell if they don't want to. I'd write a lease between you AND your siblings.

The exeutor of the estate should sell the property and divy the proceeds between the four.

I have lived in my grandmothers house for the past six years. My father has paid the taxes on the property not his only brother. Now his brother is trying to sell the property. I am the oldest granddaugher and have maintained the home and the expenses of the home. How can I get the right to stay in the home in Kentucky? Have his give you a long term lease. That way the buyers will have to leave you there, and he gets to sell the house.
