I have an old Snapper mower and the lawn mower is stuck in reverse. Upon inspection I found the clutch plate was stuck and post (gear post?) jumped the plate and is stuck. This happened right after replacing the drive wheel. I think all I have to do is unbolt the clutch plate to get it unstuck, but how do I prevent this from happening again?

Snapper breakdowns and manuals are available in many places. Be suspicious of a bushing that has worn out and the pieces have fallen off.
Snappers normally come ou of reverse just with a pedal press.

Pedal press didn't work, but I unjammed it and it's all back together and running thanks.
