Outside air unit, not a heat pump. Replaced fan motor. Everything works okay and it blows cold air but the top of the unit around where the coils are gets extremely hot. What would be causing this. I did shut down the unit after realizing how much heat it was producing.

The air being discharged from the top of the outside unit should be warm not cool. Is the fan turning in the proper rotation CW or CCW? Is the fan blade set to the same depth in the housing as the original one? (this will have an effect on air movement).
