Why is only the hot water pressure low (a trickle) at the kitchen sink? The cold water pressure is fine.

Most likely, you have debris in the faucet cartridge, on hot water side. Cartridge has small passages that get easily clogged with small debris that travel in old pipes. Turn off water, remove cartridge, clean it and reinstall. See if that works.
