Hello everyone,
This is my first visit to your site!
I have a flushing problem that is driving me up a wall! When the commode is flushed, the bowl fills to just short of overflowing. The water swirls around and then slowly drains down. Plunging didn’t do anything. The little vent is working. Its act like the main line is plugged. I removed the commode, the wax ring was like new, no sign of leaks. The main is not clogged. I don’t have a commode auger, but I ran a cable though the hole, from both sides. I blew though the hole with a vacuum cleaner hose from both side, the airs seems to be coming though OK. I currently have the commode laying on it’s back with the drain filled with muriatic acid. Figured I would let it set that way for about 4 hours. By-the-way, I poured a quart of it into the blow last night and let it set all night.
The vent pipe is clear. Everything in the tank seems to work OK.
This house is 9 years old, all the lines are 4” PVC, including the vent pipe. I built it myself so I know everything is correct. The commode is 3yrs old. It is one of those handicap (high) oblong bowls from HD. It has worked fine up until a few days ago. Is there some vent or line I don’t know about that could be plugged up? I ask this because, We recently had a 400lb visitor that has to use the plunger every time he goes. Carries one in his suitcase. Thought he may have forced solids into some hole I don’t know about.
Sorry this is so long.
Thanks.
