Just a quick question.
My guess is too much liquid asphalt was put in the mix and the heat has started to liquefy the faulty proportion of ingredients. Consultant Engineers may do analysis or refer you to technicians who do. State Highway laboratory personnel may give you some leads also. If you had an adequate foundation and the new driveway was OK for a considerable time, I cna't think of any other reason than the composition of the mix. Good luck.

The new driveway was soft from the beginning. The installer said we should have stayed off it longer. He just came back a couple of times and remelted and rerolled the bad spots which made it worse.
