Ask Me Help Desk - High school is a bit weird for me

Im a girl in form 10 and I have a maths teacher. And I can't name him but lets call him mr bob. Ok so mr bob was a adffasdth bit weird towards me and he would always say are you OK are you sure you get it . And I would say yea but I would always find it weird that he would always focus his attention on me. He is about 40 years ol. And he kreeps me out I feel uncomfortable around him and every time I want to ask him about maths he would hardly help me. Then came parent teacher night and he was lyk to my gguardian that she is doing real bad in maths and has really bad attitude. And I got in trouble thanks to him when he doesn't help me. So the next day I went to skool and had maths in first period and after class mr bob was lyk to me and another girl can you wait a moment after calsss and he was lyk I'm sorry for saying to you that your very bad girls at interviews and he said exactly you are both my favourite girls notice how I didn't say students. And we were like OK. Then in class he asks me emma do you have a boyfriend and I go no. Then he says OK because I see you with this guy all the time and I was lyk I don't hang out with guys. He said oh my mistake then. And yea I don't noe if this teacher is into me or is a pedofile. Cos all the girls at my skool say he's really weird and they feel uncomfy around him too. So I don't noe if I should say something I. And one more thing when I was in a musical at the skool I got a role and he said hed come and watch me perform, but I ended up quiting and wasn't there on the performance night and mr bob was lyk the day after the performance at skool to me and this was in front of witness 3 of my friends he said oh emma you did a fabulous job athe musical you were jumping around and your were great! And I stood there saying thank you. And then I walked home with my friends and they were lyk you didn't perform and I was lyk I noe he's freaky. They were lyk he's being weird to you and I don't noe what to do please help me this is serious everyday I see him and I don't noe what to do help me .

If the teacher is causing you to feel uncomfortable, why aren't you telling your parents, another teacher or a counselor, please?

Also, would you please use as much correct spelling and grammar as you can here? If you don't, it makes it really hard to understand what you've written. This place doesn't work the same way that a chat room does.

I don't know, but maybe this teacher feels like you are performing badly at maths, and wants you to do better. He's been talking to your parents at the parent teacher night, he's been 'watching' your music performance, he's been asking you whether you understand or not, he's been asking whether you have a boyfriend ('love' does affect your studies)... but you say that he hardly helps you... that's weird.

May I ask what are your current standing in the class in Maths? Are you on the bottom of the list? If so, that may be why he is 'focused' more on you. What about if you got better grades? We can help you with things that you don't understand if you want, here.

Yes, I also suggest that you inform your parents about it, if it was not already done.

Are you sure it is what he said, or do you think that is what he said, by how your parents reacted towards you? Because if he told your parents that you were performing badly, they will tell you, maybe severely, that you should work harder. And then, you might have guessed that he also told them that 'you had a bad attitude'.

I am doing fine in maths that's exactly what mr bob said to me the day after the interview night.
He was like I'm sorry for being so hard on you and you're my favourite girl notice how I didn't say student. But he said that to me and my other girlfriend, alone after class. See?

Oh sorry yes and I told my grandpa what he said to me after the interview night and he said he's a weird teacher then stay away from him. Then I heard that he had an affar with a student a couple of years ago. I now believe that.

I have read your other threads emma and if I were you if I felt uncomfortable about a teacher,then I would talk to my parents .Be sure you know what your talking about before you assume a teacher is making a pass at you.

You said in one thread you make out with your seventeen year old boyfriend and you wanted to know how teachers feel about that. Then you tell this teacher you have no boyfriend.

In another thread you asked how to hug a boy and if it was okay to press your breast against him. Am I right?

Don't accuse him unless your sure and you also need to tell your grandpa about your actions at school with the boyfriend. The making out and touching all the other stuff.

Also I would like to add that he may have seen what was happening in the halls with the boy and figured that your starving for attention because of low self esteem. He may have been trying to bolster your esteem by complimenting you on your musical skills and never have attended the event. He was saying nice things for your benefit and confidence. The fact that he spoke with you AND your friend at the same time is no surprise. The reason being that if there is 2 of you then there is less chance of accusations of in appropriate behavior. In other words he wasn't trying to get you alone. He may be "weird" but it sounds like his style. Since everyone seems to be having the same complaint so its not just you. Be very careful in making any accusations. You can ruin his entire life over nothing. Just keep your radar on but don't go looking for things or you will find them whether they exist or not.

I have to add that if it's known that he had an affair with a student, then he would no longer be working as a teacher. He'd be in jail, or at the very least, fired and no longer teaching.

Rumors are just that, gossip without proof. Don't believe everything you hear, especially if it makes no sense.
