How to use relationships to promote individual rights, choices and well being when working with people with learning disabilities
Hi, mrsmare!
I would assume that a person working as a caregiver to someone with a learning disability would be in better position to be able to promote individual rights, choices and well being for the person who is learning disabled because of being in a position of trust by the person for whom they are providing the care.
Wouldn't you?
Thanks!
That would be correct as support workers have to build up a trust between themselves and the individual they are supporting but was really looking for a more in depth answer
Help me out with a little more information. Learning disabilities covers a lot of area, ex. Age, extent of disability. Also the type of "working with" i.e. in what capacity?
Working with adults with a variety of disabilities in a supported living environment the aim being to promote independence
