I believe the springs on my Kleenmaid Dishwasher D221 have snapped or dislodged following a loud snapp noise. The door now has its full weight when opened.

You will have to slide out the dishwasher 1/2 way. Usually the plastic clip on the rope snaps. Fairly easy to replace. Shouldn't have to remove anything .look at the unbroken side. Would replace both, other side probably not far behind.
