Pay as you go telephone tariffs
I would like to have a mobile phone for emergency use while I am out. It is handy for instance when I have to call out the RAC or AA or to call home when I am delayed. Can someone give me some advice on the appropriate pay as you go tariff for me. I will probably make one call a week and that is on the high side.

As you have mentioned RAC and AA I assume you are in the UK.
Pay as you go credit doesn't expire any more so any handset and supplier will do you fine, even something basic from Tesco.

Looking at tariffs doesn't really matter for infrequent use as you have suggested.
