What happens when you are forclosed and bank puts your things on the street, and people get your stuff
Hey, moon, I don't think it happens that way. You are given time to get your stuff out. Just call the bank; that is of course if you are the owner, but if you are a renter, then that is a different story.
Tick
You lose all of your stuff and have to buy new.?
You would have been given legal notice of the eviction and failed to move. I have a lot of nice furniture that way
Hi, MoonDust!
Are you asking because it's going to happen to you or to someone you know, please?
Thanks!
Unless you went and asked, could be they are selling them to the best offer??
In Georgia and TN, the court officer comes out and stands there while a moving crew puts it all on the sidewalk. The officer stands there till it is all out of the house. He then records the time it is all out, asks if there is a owner there who wishes to take possession of it. And he walks away. At that point, unless the owners are there to load it into a truck, it is free game.
In Atlanta, and the local area people will follow the crews that do this. ( often one marshal and the same moving crew will go from house to house to house during a day.)
But the people are made to stand on the other side of the street. Then the officer tells them when it is OK to come over and get stuff. The people run as fast as they can for the best stuff.
It works the same for office and store evictions, I have gotten a nice metal desk, file cabinet and more that way
Moondust. Please learn how to use the rating system. You rated Clough with NOT ACCURATE just for asking a question. EXCON was good enough to give him a balancer to cancel out your error. If nobody was standing by that stuff then its fair game for anyone to pick it up. Unattended property on a curb is considered juk/garbage free for the taking. The powner had been notified and give an chance to retrieve his stuff but did not.
