Well first of all, this little guy was orphaned at a job site that my nephew was working at.He brought it to me because he knows that I have some time with this sort of thing.I did contact my vet at the time that I begun taking care of him.All has gone well, but today I noticed that he had a small trace of blood in his stool(he is going in for a checkup on a matter of minutes. He is being bottle fed KMR(kitten milk replacer) I agree that he is too young to be away from his mom.But given the fact that he was abandoned at this construction site,I felt the need to give him a fighting chance.

Your questions will be answered 'in a matter of minutes' as you say, when you visit the vet. Kitten is very susceptible to respiratory problems seeing as he/she has not had very much access to mothers milk. Ihope distemper will not take him/her if he gets cold. I carried one of these little things around inside my bra for a while to keep him warm, taking him out to massage tummy, feed, etc. but, it was all lost when he started coughing and sneezing, mucus. Very painful to see. Ihope you have better luck and can keep the little thing healthy.
Tick
Oh my gosh... :( So sad to hear of that.Well we are back from the vet and the little man is doing well, but has been given his first de-worming.We have been keeping him warm and hopefully comfortable. Are you a Vet by some chance?
The vet did a de-worming at 2 weeks of age?
This is a cat right ? Moved to cats from people medical care
Thanks everyone... :)
Will do! He's such a cute little guy.Growing and learning new things everyday! So cool to watch. We took in 2 boys almost 2 years ago that needed this sort of care(they were orphaned as well)To look at them now,you would never know how scrawny they were, lol It's hard work, just like taking care of a newborn baby, but so worth it.
I've never had the opportunity to care for an orphaned cat, or dog. I have raised a baby finch from 2 days on. It is like caring for a newborn. In the finches case it was like caring for a newborn the size of your pinky fingernail. Feeding was not fun. I had to feed the little girl with a toothpick at first.
Full grown they're the size of an adults thumb.
She survived and was so tame (not usual for finches).
I had to do it again 6 months later (we had finches, they breed like rabbits), but this time the baby died.
It's rewarding when they survive, hard to accept when they don't.
I hope this goes well for you. I can imagine that it's so wonderful to be able to watch such a young kitten grow, learn, become the cat he's meant to be. Can't wait for pictures. :)
We raised finches as well! I know what you mean when you say how they multiply. It got so crazy, looking for homes for them.
You only ever have to buy two, a male and a female, and then you have finches for life. ;)
We ended up re-homing ours, we had 30 at one point. It was getting to crazy, then I found out I was pregnant again, and I just couldn't do it anymore.
I have enough to handle now. Three dogs, 4 rabbits, a bird (cockatiel) and fish.
If I had kept the finches there'd probably be over 100 by now.
Oh heck yeah... easy to do with those birds!
