    Water Pressure Problem
Our water pressure pulses every time we turn on a tap or flush a toilet... is this an indication that we need a new water tank or can the pressure be stablilized by making an adjustment to the tank. Any helpful suggestions are
    Appreciated. Thanks Don

Are you on a pump or city water?

    Thanks.

It could be several things, caused by a low water level, can be clogged filter, a faulty impeller or pump, or a ruptured diaphragm in the pressure tank, good luck.

Don, take a look at the top of your pressure tank. There is an air valve there, like on a car tire. Push the valve for a few seconds. If water starts coming out, then your tank is shot. Try that and get back to us.

I agree with Jilisnbe, if water comes out it is the indication of a ruptured diaphrma, good luck.

I guess I am looking at a ruptured

Well... the good news is this: Replacing the pressure tank is not difficult. As a get by you can do this. Turn off the system, then drain it through any low-level faucet. If you have access to compressed air, use the valve at the top to put in 20# or so of pressure. If not, don't worry about it. The tank will probably fill with air once you drain it anyway. Turn the system back on and the problem should be done for the time being, though it will come back. Still, that should buy a few weeks for you, plenty of time to get another tank.

I'm on a well, too. My condolences.
