Wife uses atm withdrawel on husband's account
Even though only my husband's name is on the account, my paychecks are direct deposited into his account. Can he press charges against me for using his atm card to withdraw some of my money out?

Why is your wages paind into his account? He can have the pin changed and you would no longer be able to withdraw cash from that account. Get your own account.

I think we need some more background information.

As bluerose asked, why is your paycheck going into an account with only his name on it?

Does the bank recognize you as someone who is authorized to write checks on the account even if your name isn't on it? (Do they have a signature card for you?)

Why would he be upset with you withdrawing money? Does he control the money in your relationship? Can you discuss this with him?

Why isn't there a joint account?

I think you need to change how you are getting paid or have your name added to the account.

Visit the bank and find out if you are on the account. If you are, get a card issued, and keep your PIN to yourself.

If you aren't, talk to your husband about why you are not authorized on the account. If he does not wish you to be, then go back to the bank and get your own account, keep your PIN private, and make the change at your workplace to have your cheque deposited into your new account.

At some point you must have authorized him or gave him permission to be in charge of the money.

I can't imagine why you would do this.

Talk to your husband about finances. If you don't know what's going on with this one, chances are you have no idea what's going on with any other bank account or investment either.

I didn't know that I had the right to be in charge of anything other than the U.S.A.'s voting policy at the U.N.

Seriously, we have been married 45 years now and I have not paid a bill in 45 years. In fact all I care about is that if I want a new toy or tool (same thing sometimes) I can get it.

    Most times I can.

When I was working, my check was mailed home and my Lady deposited it in a joint account. Eventually the check was transferred directly to the bank.

My Lady never makes any large purchases (over $100) without either asking me if is okay or telling me why she did what she did.

I cannot even fathom the chaos that would ensue if I were to attempt to keep the checkbook.

I'm a computer geek, if the numbering system doesn't go from 0 to "F" (Hexadecimal), I don't know how to translate it.
