how to frame a sliding door
Greetings, we are building a patio15'x30' wich will have 3 sliding doors in the design, the roof will be of a fiberglass material material that looks like old fashioned zinc sheets.

What type of framing is required for a patio this size... also I was thinking of building the deck first and ahen frame the space on top of it.

Will it have deck over it?

    Hi sanadonna

For the floor beams can u go larger then 2x6? If not, have to put a double 2x6 mid way from wall of house to end of deck. Supporting this double u will need 4 piers that go below frost line. U will also need 4 piers at end of deck.

The box beam should be double 2by. After u have poured the piers and set center double 2x6, cover ground with poly and crushed stone. Install floor beams using teco hangers.

U can frame walls with either 2x4 or 2x6, depending on the look u want. Would use 2x10 for header over doors
