I have a 1 and 1/2 yr. old system. Just started to experience the temperature rising above the set setting and the outside unit not coming on. If I reset the manhandler the unit starts and runs correctly for awhile. Could be 1,2,3 or more hours before it happens again. Just keep hitting breaker and same thing goes on. Any help?

Name brand and model number of thermostat? This could be a thermostat issue since it is the signal source that turns on the outside unit.

I changed the thermostat- the original was a honeywell and I installed a honeywell that was a little better . Same thing kept happening so I put the old one back on.

I also thought it could be a power problem because I have 100 amp service and am loaded perty good so I turned my hot water off and same thing happened.
