    Central a/c condenser fan overheating
My old condeser fan was over heating and would go into thermal shut down, so I installed a brand new 1/3 hp 208-240v 2.8 amps same as old one and now this new motor, new cap 7.5 440v is doing the same thing. The fan will run for 20 min and get so hot it shuts down. I replaced the contactor also. On start uo I was getting 3.25 anp draw on new motor. Double checked all connectios and the cap and the dam thing continues to overheat. I have move the fan blades several times to get max air flow and it still over heats?? Any help out there, any ideas I am at a lose.

Are you sure the motor is getting the correct amount of voltage?

Try a 5 MFD Capacitor to drop the draw.

I will check voltage, breaker and capacitor to day. I was also told that it may be the breaker so I will check that also and possible move breaker to a different place on the buss bar.
