I bought HP laptop a year ago, warranty going 2 expire in July 2010. Actually I am getting a pop-up window every time I start my laptop saying to activate windows now or later and enter a product key. So my question is how can it be possible if I hv got the original window and why is it asking for product key if it is genuine one. And what is the solution for that.

I have just get it recovered when it was affected with virus, and I used the Recovery Manager to get everythng back. Only after doing that the message for activation of windows started to appear.

Recovery Manager restores your factory settings. So the activation flag was probably unset. Just re activate.
