    Fixing bathtub leaks
We have fiberglass bathtub that has developed small holes causing a large leak into our basement. I've called the manufacturer and the warranty has run out on the tub. There are about 10 small holes on the bottom of the tub about the size of a pin head, but they are large enough that the water damage in the basement is fairly extensive. What should we use to repair the holes? I picked up some silicone from Home Depot and we put that on the leaks which seems to have stopped it, but I want something that's going to be a little more permanent.

I have never seen a tub develop such holes but think it should not be patched. If 10 holes happened on their own many more will follow. You could try to do a gelocoat but the color and surface aren't going to look like anything other than a patch job.

Are these round holes or cracks? Back to you, Tom
